Travel grants

Looking to gain new knowledge, build international connections, or acquire experience at a research institution abroad? Sometimes the next step in your studies, research, or career lies literally across the border. We help KNCV members take that step through our travel grants.

Whether you want to attend an international conference, pursue an internship abroad, or establish new scientific collaborations, various financial grants are available to help make your plans a reality.

KNCV Geursen Fund

Purpose of travel grant: to provide financial support to chemists under the age of 36.
For whom: chemists under the age of 36.
Requirements: at least two years of paid membership of the KNCV, currently studying (final phase of higher professional education/university), PhD student or working in (bio)chemistry/chemical technology, and not having previously received a contribution from the fund.
Maximum contribution: €500,-.

KNCV Fellinga Fund

Purpose of travel grant: attendance at a (foreign) conference.
For whom: representative of the KNCV.
Requirement: minimum of two years of paid membership of the KNCV.
Maximum contribution: €750.

Chemistry Europe Travel Grant

Purpose of travel grant: to create new connections, facilitate laboratory visits, and promote knowledge exchange.
For whom: post-docs (2-7 years after PhD).
Requirement: paid membership of the KNCV, at least one publication in one of the Chemistry Europe journals in the past year.
Maximum contribution: €2,000.

KNCV International Organic Chemistry Internship

Purpose of travel grant: internship at a foreign (non-profit) institution.
For whom: students at a Dutch university or university of applied sciences.
Requirement: membership of the KNCV Organic Chemistry section.
Maximum contribution: €500.

KNCV International Internship for Catalysis Students

Purpose of travel grant: internship at a foreign (non-profit) institution.
For whom: students at a Dutch university or university of applied sciences.
Requirement: membership of the Dutch Catalysis Society.
Maximum contribution: €500.
